How Do I Put the Yaktrax Chains On?
For convenience in addition to performance, the Yaktrax Pros are made to be very easy to put on. Simply sit with one leg over the over, then put on your Yaktrax starting from heel to toe. Once you've done this with both feet, you'll be ready to go!
Is There Anything I Should Check Before Using Yaktrax?
Before going anywhere with your Yaktrax, make doubly sure they are on correctly. Please check that:
- The word 'heel' or 'toe' on your Yaktrax cannot be read on the heel or toe of your shoe (this means they are inside out).
- The coils are sitting flat against the sole of your shoe and are not sticking out past its edge.
- The outer band consistently grips the outer edge of your footprint, all the way around your shoe (this should not touch the sole).
- There is a circular knob visible on the webbing of your Yaktrax covering your sole.
What Types of Shoes Will They Fit?
The Yaktrax Chains are made from stretchy natural rubber that is able to withstand sub-zero temperatures. Their composition is therefore flexible enough to fit securely over all kinds of shoe types, such as work boots and trainers.
How Do The Yaktrax Chains Ice Grips Work?
The chains of these Yaktrax are made up of resilient zinc-coated steel links that have been welded together. These individual chains are then fitted together in a ladder-like shape which helps to increase traction from all angles, including the sides of your shoe.
Can I Walk On Pavement With the Yaktrax?
The Yaktrax are not made for use on surfaces without snow or ice, including pavement and gravel. To avoid damaging your ice grips, always take them off before walking over such terrain.
